Root-Cause Support for Prevention, Screening, and Recovery
If you have noticed changes in your digestion, have a family history of colon cancer, or are navigating a recent diagnosis, you deserve thoughtful, whole-body care. At Wild Horse Health, we take an integrative approach to colon cancer, supporting prevention, early detection, and recovery alongside your conventional treatment team.
Colon cancer (also called colorectal cancer when the rectum is involved) is one of the most common cancers we see today, but it is also one of the most preventable. Most cases begin quietly as small polyps in the lining of the large intestine, and with time, some of those polyps can transform into cancer. When caught early, or even before they become cancerous, outcomes improve dramatically.
At Wild Horse Health, patients are not just asking how do I treat this. They are asking a deeper question: why did this happen, and how do I make sure it does not happen again? That is exactly where an integrative, whole-body approach matters. We are also authorized providers for Cologuard, which makes at-home screening accessible for eligible patients.
Colon cancer begins when cells in the large intestine grow abnormally. In most cases, it starts as a benign growth called a polyp. Over years, certain types of polyps can develop genetic changes that lead to cancer. Because this progression is slow, screening and polyp removal can stop cancer before it ever starts, which is why regular evaluation matters so much.
Colon cancer is not just a local issue. It is influenced by chronic inflammation, the gut microbiome, immune function, metabolic health, and daily lifestyle patterns. Looking at each of these systems gives us more places to intervene, whether your goal is prevention, recurrence reduction, or recovery support.

When to Seek Immediate Care
Treatment needs to be as multifaceted as the condition itself. At Wild Horse Health, we go well beyond treating the tumor in isolation. Colon cancer develops in a biological environment shaped by inflammation, metabolism, the microbiome, and lifestyle. Our integrative care addresses that environment while you pursue conventional care with your oncology team.
Our Evaluation Process
Our care plans are layered and adaptive, designed to evolve as your body responds. Patients working through an active cancer diagnosis typically receive care in coordination with our Integrative Oncology team.
Your first visit includes a 90-minute consultation where we listen carefully to your symptoms, review prior diagnoses (if any), and begin a targeted physical exam. We will talk through your goals, whether that is prevention, screening guidance, or supportive care during active treatment.
Based on your findings, we may recommend labs, imaging, screening tests like Cologuard, or referrals to collaborative specialists. Most patients walk away from their first visit with a clearer understanding of what is happening and a plan for what to do next.
A colon cancer diagnosis, or the suspicion of one, is often overwhelming. Many patients arrive feeling rushed through appointments, uncertain about next steps, or unsure where integrative support fits in. We approach your care differently, with time, attention, and respect for the complexity of what you are navigating.
Wild Horse Health is a cash-pay clinic. We do not bill insurance directly, but:
In many cases, yes. Routine screening, early polyp removal, and attention to gut and lifestyle factors can significantly reduce risk. Our role is to help identify those factors early and support the systems that keep your digestive health strong.
Yes. We work alongside your oncology team to help manage side effects, sustain energy and nutrition, and support quality of life throughout chemotherapy, radiation, or surgical recovery. You can learn more about our Integrative Oncology services.
You do not need to wait. If you are having symptoms or concerning risk factors, we can guide appropriate screening, including Cologuard for eligible patients, and begin supporting your health right away.
We do not replace conventional oncology, we complement it. While your oncology team focuses on treating the cancer itself, we focus on the biological environment around it: inflammation, metabolism, the microbiome, nutrition, and nervous system balance.
We’re here to support your recovery—not just your shoulder, but your whole body’s ability to move and function without pain.
